I have finished the course. When I finish the course it was hard to tell I had finished. It wasn’t clear and I had to ring the Academy to check that everything was completed. There was also a mix up with my course completion dates, which I did check when I rang in once. once the Academy realised it was wrong, I was put under a lot of time pressure to get the course completed but they never contacted me to let me know that they had made a mistake it wasn’t until I logged in I found out. I found the content good and I enjoy working through it at my own pace. when I rang in and spoke to anyone they were quite helpful and always polite and professional. I purchased the course notes which were good but I did have to print out quite a bit that wasn’t complete in the purchased course notes.

Overall I found the course helpful and informative, however, some of the info has not been updated for some time and new features and reports on Xero are not covered. Also, a lot of the learning material was from the Xero help pages which is free access

I have used SAP for years but I am aware that many smaller companies and therefore jobs require experience with Xero. something could be included on journals. There was no mention of how to prepare journals. The website guideline of 10 hours to complete each of the certificate in Xero accounting, the certificate in Xero payroll and the advanced certificate in Xero I dont think is realistic if students do it properly and do the necessary reading.

It is a set up function and should be addressed before Reconciling etc.

A friend was doing this course at the time so I decided to enroll. It would have been hepful to have more practical exercises to work through from start to finish so that you have a complete example to work through instead of partial bits of information. I understood the principles of the GST reconciliation but it would have been good to have more data within the exercise to work with.
